We got the OK to close again from the seller, they finally arranged their tax issue and so we can close out! Hopefully second time is the charm and we don't have to do this a third time! We'll be closing on wednesday so will get back to you by then
Incidentally, they cleared their taxes the day after we closed last time, and it took a week for us to find out about it... if you ever do this with a bank, and they DON'T have the time is of the essence clause panic... it took this long WITH the clause!! If you ever find yourself dealing with HSBC think long and hard, they are clearly the least organized financial entity in the world...
